Researchers from ACAP at UNSW have joined a new solar recycling initiative alongside partners at PV Industries and the NSW Environment Protection Authority.
The project takes a broad and collaborative approach to solving the issues posed by solar panel end-of-life recycling, to set local industry on a path to a closed-loop sustainable system by working to improve safe handling and transport procedures, establishing a collection and logistics network for urban and regional NSW, optimising solar panel recycling and processing techniques, and developing new end-markets for recovered materials to enable future market opportunities for reuse.
