Allegra posted on her Instagram account: "Absolute honour to meet Wentworth legend Professor Martin Green AM.

"Martin is the father of solar PV and there is barely a solar panel out there that doesn’t have some of his technology embedded in it.

"We have him and his team at UNSW SPREE to thank for the clean, cheap power that solar provides today - what a legacy!"

Professor Green said: "A lot of the students that I've trained here at UNSW have gone on to become captains of industry, and they are largely responsible for the fact that we [the world] has cheap solar now."
