Renew Economy reports that ACAP collaborating industry participant, RayGen, has secured a forthcoming 3MW/50MWh ‘solar hydro’ facility project to be installed at Liddel, NSW and in Carwarp, Victoria, which will bring with it a huge capacity of 17 hours' worth of dispatchable energy storage.
With $27 million in private sector funding raised by RayGen and a further $15 million investment from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, the projects marks a significant commitment to rolling out robust solar power and storage at scale. The Liddel coal-powered plant is due to be closed in 2023 on the same site.
